Directory Synchronisation - moving from Azure API to Graph API

As you may know following the recent emails to all administrators, Microsoft is withdrawing support for its Azure API (which our directory synchronisation still uses). Therefore we have created an additional replacement API (Microsoft Graph API) to allow anyone using the older Azure API to simply migrate over to.

If you use Directory Synchronisation via Azure API, your Account Manager will be in touch with you to discuss your migration to this. However if you wish you are able to run and manage this process yourself as it requires no input from Matrix Booking at all.

The details are as follows, and all we ask is that if you do migrate this over then please just let us know so we can log that the migration is complete and works.

·       Open the existing App Registration for Matrix Booking in Azure AD

·       Click API permissions and then click the Add a permission button.

·       On the Request API permissions screen, choose Microsoft Graph.

·       Once selected, choose Application permissions, then (optionally) filter by directory and select the Directory.Read.All permission and the click the Add permissions button.  Matrix Booking needs this API permission to be able to read the users in your directory.

·       Next, click on the Grant admin consent for … button

·       Click Yes when asked to confirm.

·       Finally, remove the existing Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) Graph permission:

Once you have completed the above then your directory synchronisation will be using the new Microsoft Graph API and will proceed as usual with a daily synchronisation at approximately 4am UK time.

Contact your Account Manager to let them know you’ve completed this task so we can update our support records.
