Hardware options overview

This page explains the different hardware options you can have whilst using Matrix Booking.

Introduction

Matrix Booking is compatible with tablets and kiosks that can be placed in your reception or front-of-house areas, or by your resources (for example, meeting rooms). Depending on what type of hardware you pick, you may need stands or mounts for your devices. There are 4 hardware options when using Matrix Booking:

  1. Hardware as a Service

  2. Get your hardware through Matrix Booking

  3. Get your own hardware

  4. Use Matrix Booking without hardware

Hardware as a Service

Instead of purchasing the hardware, you can use our Hardware as a Service (HaaS) model, which means you “rent” the hardware rather than own it. For a monthly subscription fee, the hardware is owned and maintained by Matrix Booking.

When it’s shipped out to you, all your hardware will come with the latest version of Matrix Booking and our Mobile Device Management (MDM) software. With our own MDM software on your devices, we can monitor any errors that may occur and remotely access your devices to support you.

All you have to do is unpack them and put them where you want them.

We’ll make sure your devices always have the latest version of Matrix Booking running on your hardware through automatic updates. Any faulty devices will be immediately replaced free of charge. As standard, all devices will be fully refreshed and replaced every 5 years.

Get your hardware through Matrix Booking

If you want to own your hardware, purchasing through Matrix Booking has never been easier. We partner with a leading AV provider with over 20 years experience to provide a range of hardware devices.

When it’s shipped out to you, all your hardware will come with the latest version of Matrix Booking and our Mobile Device Management (MDM) software. With our own MDM software on your devices, we can monitor any errors that may occur and remotely access your devices to support you.

All you have to do is unpack them and put them where you want them.

Whenever a new version of Matrix Booking is released, we’ll arrange with you a free and automatic update to the latest version of our software, as part of your ongoing software licensing.

The standard warranty of hardware devices is 3 years, which includes a return-to-base fix or replace process for you. For more information on this option, contact your Account Manager.

Get your own hardware

If you want to own your hardware without going through Matrix Booking, you can. You’ll need to pay for the Matrix Booking software licences (1 licence per device).

We’ll make the software available to you to install on your devices or we can do this for you under our professional services offering. If you’d like to keep your software up to date, you can download the latest versions of your software from our latest versions page.

We’ll support any software issues as part of your ongoing software licensing. Any hardware issues would be your responsibility or your hardware provider’s.

Use Matrix Booking without hardware

If you don’t need any hardware, you can still use Matrix Booking through our web and mobile apps. You can add hardware at any time during your subscription.
